Writer's Block: Independence Days

While India's Independence Day is often celebrated with kites, the US celebrated with fireworks. How does each methods reflect its culture?

I'd prefer kites actually. I've never heard of a kid blowing up his hand with a kite. They are beautiful, don't pollute, and are legal. Maybe I should move to India because I doubt the USA will ever change.

Ever heard of a kid accidentally cutting the veins in their wrist due to kite string cause it's happened here before.

And yeah India has fireworks too. Diwali.

I agree with you....kites are safer...although I enjoy fireworks, they frighten me with my kids..and I hear about injuries just about every year with other people's kids. kites can also allow for individuality too...if you design your own. :)

Fireworks are banned in the state of New Jersey, so we don't do that here either. Time to get some kites.
