Adult Accounts and Purging

I'm more than a little confused with live journal right now. I used to have an adult themed account. I seem to remember some bruhaha a few years back that live journal was going to axe all the adult accounts. So that account got locked and purged. I figured that happened to all the adult accounts. So now, years later I thought it might be cool to have my old name back. But evidentally I can't get it back without spending $15, though I can create a brand new account for free. Makes no sense to me, especially since there seem to be other adult or 18+ accounts on Live Journal still. I don't know if they got rid of mature accounts but then later added them back in or what. Anyone care to catch me up because it seems like I'm missing something here.

Humid Day

I woke up today with lots to do and no energy to do it. I even thought it was Sat. until about noon today and it's only Friday. It's hot and humid, so I know I haven't been sleeping well. This is a photo I took at one of our archery gatherings. I believe this little boy is 6 and trying out his first bow.

Gourd Rain Stick

Today I'm busy working on a gourd rain stick (musical instrument). I'm almost done with it. I just have to put the decorative band on and whatever decorations I want. And finish the tutorial I made for youtube. I already posted part 1 so this will be part 2. <lj-embed id="244" />

Learning to made a dagger handle.

Another weekend is already here. Going to Laguna Beach on Sat to meet with David Brunetta, a famous sculptor. Hopefully I will be a good student and not have my blond moments. I'm amazed he made time for me.

I've been 'plurking' today here: http://www.plurk.com/user/zelthehypnotist It keeps me from being too much of a hermit. I guess Plurk isn't that well known because people keep asking me what I'm talking about. I don't have many friends on there yet so I'm mostly just talking to myself.

I sewed some couch remote control caddies with pockets in them from a tutorial on Threadbanger.com and much to my surprise the creator of the tutorial found me and complimented me on how they came out. I still want to do the 'picture ledge' and the shelf hanging from the tutorial. I've had shelves laying in the bottom of my closet for years because I didn't know how to hang them. And I really need to reclaim the storage space. Shelves don't save you room if they are the item taking up the room on the closet floor. I was a bit worried because the tutorial didn't say anything about finding a stud to screw the shelves into. I don't think you can just screw them up any old place on the wall. Don't they need to be anchored in a stud somewhere?

I have tons of jewelry to work on as well. Started at least 3 freeform Gourd Stitch necklaces. And one of them has an autumn theme so I really want to finish it before autumn is over.

So those are my weekend plans. How about the rest of you guys?

Off like a herd of turtles today.

My boyfriend's bike riding friend never did show up so he ended up doing the ride alone.
The bike swap meet is not for a few hours so I have some time to do other things.
I'm enjoying being back on Live Journal. It hasn't crashed on me once in the last few days. It used to crash about every third post. So knock on wood it will stay functional for me.

It's also really grown. I never used to get many comments on my posts, but now I'm getting at least one reply per entry. I feel like I'm finally visable.

Saturday plans

I think we are off to a bicycle swap meet in Encino later today. My boyfriend was already gone when I woke up. He's off on a fixed gear bike ride that he lured a fellow at work into. I slept in because I was up till 2 AM trying to pimp my wares in the Etsy chatroom last night. I need to add new stuff to my shops. They get buried on the search engine unless you post frequently.

My friend made a bunch of tomato crafts like knitted tomato hats for a tomato festival. Then she only sold 1 item. She lost money on that venture. But she still wants to do the event again next year.

I need to eat breakfast before my boyfriend comes back raring to go to the bike swap meet.

I already updated my craft blog today here: http://craftaday.blogspot.com/

I'd prefer kites actually. I've never heard of a kid blowing up his hand with a kite. They are beautiful, don't pollute, and are legal. Maybe I should move to India because I doubt the USA will ever change.

Painting a belly dancer folk art girl

I just finished a mixed media folk art painting of a raven haired belly dancer. I had fun and the 2 girls playing in the yard came over to ooh and ahh so I painted them each a bookmark to take home. I need to go outside and take a photo of it before it blows away. Still cleaning up my toys. Why is it so easy to set up and so time consuming to clean up?

Remembering my mom

My mother passed away 4 years ago in August. So today I got a conversation from a new guy I met on Etsy, and his mom passed away today at noon, on his birthday. So my heart has been hurting all day, both for him and for me. And I'm wracking my brains trying to figure out the day my mom died, but after reading my live journal entries, I think it's not the 14 but maybe the 15th or 16th. I know I have it written down somewhere, but it was four years ago and I'm not all that organized.

Busy artist busy bee

This has been a busy art day. Lots of blogging. Added new items to http://www.hypnotic.etsy.com. Took a custom order to the post office this morning. I'm sitting in an Etsy chatroom all alone http://www.etsy.com/chat.php?room_id=Gypsy_Camp because the other rooms were full.

I've been twittering and plurking. My craft name on both of those is craftinator. But crafts are not everything right? So I also have a twitter name for poetry which is redquill and I have others too. I'm prolific, what can I say? I'm becoming a problogger I guess. I'm making more from blogging than from art! Bizarre I know.

Still plugging away at the hypnosis thing too. If I had 20 paid sessions a month, I could call hypnosis my only career. I'd like that. Yes, I would.

Pirates Online

I haven't made an actual post here in a while. There are so many places to write now I'm dizzy with the choices.

I've been playing Pirates online under the names Seraphina Royale, Ruby Daggerz, and Luna Silverstar. If you see me running around say hello. I told my friend Tank Bluewolf I'd blog about it so he can find me in real life. I've never been a gamer, but that game completely fascinates me. I'm sure I'll get bored with it eventually but for now I'm having a blast. They just added French and Spanish ghost ships and sprinkled the islands with French and Spanish skeletons. Too fun!
